What it is

The Goal Zero Nomad 200 is Goal Zero’s 200 W foldable portable solar panel — four monocrystalline panels in a protective fabric case that fold down to a quarter of the unfolded size. The unit is purpose- built to pair with Goal Zero’s Yeti portable power station line via the proprietary HPP (High Power Port) connector, and adds a USB-A output for charging phones / small electronics directly off the panel.

Two attributes set the Nomad 200 apart from MC4-based foldable panels: the fabric-cased construction (heavier than rigid-glass panels but more robust to drops, impacts, and dirt), and the hanging-loop attachment system that lets the panel strap to a vehicle roof, tent, or kayak deck for opportunistic charging.

Where it fits

  • Goal Zero Yeti 700 + cottage / cabin use. A natural pair with the Goal Zero Yeti 700 in this catalog. The Yeti 700 accepts up to 200 W of solar input — exactly matched by a single Nomad 200.
  • Strap-and-charge scenarios. Hanging loops let the panel deploy on top of a vehicle, tent, or kayak deck while the user is doing something else. Useful for through-hike and paddle-trip workflows where setup time is a real cost.
  • USB-direct phone charging. The 12 W USB-A output lets the panel charge a phone or small camera battery directly, without going through the power station. Handy for short trips when the power station is staying behind.

Where it doesn’t

  • Non-Goal-Zero power stations. The HPP connector is proprietary to Goal Zero. Use with EcoFlow / Bluetti / Jackery / Anker portable power stations requires an HPP-to-MC4 (or similar) adapter, available aftermarket but not from Goal Zero.
  • Storage-footprint-sensitive buyers. At 22 lb (10 kg) and folded to 28.2 × 22.3 in, the Nomad 200 is among the heavier 200 W foldable panels on the market. The trade is fabric-case durability versus rigid-glass lightness.
